Right guys I said I'd be firing questions left right and centre sooo here's my first one and it could be an endless discussion tbh.
So tyres. For my car I plan to use it as a weekend spirited road / occasional track day car. What are going to be my best options to support both types of driving ? I am currently running a 235/40/17 Falken Azenis fk453. Which is known as a mid range In terms of grip.
To put you into the picture of the cars current position, I'm already running a wider wheel then stock from 6j standard to an 8.5j to help improve contact patch. Along with upper strut bracing front and rear and BC BR coilovers. I'm not sure if these modifications make a difference in choosing tyres hence why I list them.
So fire away guys your advice will be greatly appreciated !

Its always a catch 22 with tyres, as with track day stuff its bad on the road, wears out quicker but better on track.
Really depends what you want from the car.
I'm going for Yoko AD08R next as an intermediate tyre.

Bang for buck I think it's hard to beat Federal RSR's but you do have to keep any eye out for them cracking. This has happened more to me on very high speed circuits like Silverstone gp and Bedford gt.

Im currently using Nankang AR1's on the Puma as both its road and track tyres and I can recommend them. They are a bit noisy on the road but then a track orientated car always will be compromised when using it on the road.
As Sam says, a Yoko AD08R is a really good intermediate tyre.

Thanks for the advice guys ! The moistness doesn't really worry me as it's old as hell with being stripped out and no sound deadening. The AD08R sound like a good idea if they are a good intermediate... and a second set of wheels is an option but if I was to go that route would I be better off going for a semi slick that is dedicated solely for track ?

If you go second wheels go full slicks.

I've ran federal rsr's as road/track tyres ,they have lasted very well and performed well on track ,I am aware there are better options for track tyres but when I bought them it was getting a balance of performance v longevity ,I can't complain at either however they are shocking in the wet I now run road tyres as road/wets and yet to kill the rsr's on track I will then look at other options ,

I've used AD08's on road and track and highly rate them.

I've currently got Federal 595 RS-R's on the F and I'm very happy with how they have held up and performed on the various track days I've done. The one thing I have found is that they work much better at higher pressures weirdly. I tried running 26F and 28R at Silverstone after a chat with a friend who works for Team HARD but seemed to really struggle with under steer and general feel. At Donington I increased the pressures to 30F and 32R with much better grip and feel.
I've also tried a friend's car who runs the Nankang NS2R which I believe are equivalent and I personally don't think they are as good as the Federal's.
If I could afford it I would go for a second set of alloys with full slicks but also tempted to try the Federal FZ201's as they look almost pornographic!
