So, I got the boot lid back from the paint shop. Still needs polishing but I got it fitted up. Very impressed with it. It wasn't my first choice as I really wanted one that did away with the boot handle piece. But it's more than made up for it with how well it fitted for a Fibreglass replica. All the trim fitted on retaining the standard tool kit ect. So am very pleased with it. I also decided to go back to a stock steering wheel. I am thinking of going to the ring next weekend and thought it would be nice to be Blessed to use the cruise control ect. Also it would take any worry away from being pulled up on the after market wheel by the people on the barrier at the ring. As I know they get funny about aftermarket wheels on tf. I have my old original stock steering wheel which I'm going to send to royal steering wheels to have the alcantara treatment. I also had to replace the oil temp/level sensor in the sump as it started playing up. The temperature gauge would work now and again. So that's all fixed. I have bought a carbon fibre rear csl style Diffuser but am still awaiting it. Anyone else going to the ring bank Holiday weekend?

I never understood this "no aftermarket wheels" and "no removable steering wheels" at the ring - I'd like to see one of their marshalls get out of my car without one 😂

I'm thinking of going to the ring next year but one of the guys says il be lucky if they let me on. Is there somewhere that gives you rules and regs as to what's allowed and not allowed. Or does it just depend who you get on the day

Right little update my carbon rear Diffuser turned up, and it fits really well, which I was really surprised at. And then last weekend I decided to go to the Nurburgring for the weekend to try the car out. I was very impressed really happy with the car in all areas, except the suspension. I Found it was just way to soft. After speaking to a few local Germans about a few other things including suspension I decided the only way to go is kw v3. So after coming back I managed to find a set of 2nd hand v3s in good condition. So I have purchased them and eagerly awaiting delivery The only other thing I really wanted after coming back for the ring was more noise! I must have had the quitest m3 there! So I picked up some decat pipes and new gaskets and bolts. So will be fitting them in the next week or so.

Sorry for not posting for a while. Just been busy. Little update, my kw v3 arrived, very happy, all appeared to be good! I got the setting from kw that they advise for the Nurburgring so adjusted them before fitting them. I couldn't wait to fit them, just to see what the difference between cheaper alternatives are. So I fitted them Saturday, and stick it straight on the alignment machine and tweaked the geo. All I can say is wow! The difference is night and day! I think the biggest thing I noticed which is a little difficult to explain is that when you go over a bump or uneven surface the way the shock deals with it, its instant, there's no after shock compared to cheaper coilovers I've used. Dunno it's very hard to explain but has completely transformed the car and my confidence level. It's made me just want to drive the car more and more and learn what more I can do with it. It's really hit home to me, you really do get what you pay for with suspension! I would now love to try some Nitrons or intrax but there a bit to expensive for me. Sorry for waffling on, it's just hard to explain, or at least I find it hard to explain The only other thing I've done since the last update, was I didn't like the carpet that I fitted to the rear or the car, since removing the seats. As I couldn't hoover it with out it all coming up and just I thought looked a little messy. So I decided to get some MDF cut it to shape and stick the carpet to it and make a sort of false floor. Think it looks a lot neater, easier to clean and also I could mount my fire extinguisher to it.

I had KW V2's which the OEM top mounts started knocking so I sold them and went to some cheap meister r which had top mounts etc but they were crap and lasted a week. I then upgraded to kw club sports for the top mounts and straight springs. It hurt the wallet at the time but there awesome

Brilliant progress! Top work, the KW V2 and V3s are crazy good for the money! Reading your build makes me really wish I had gone down the M3 route!!!
Love how you just say 'I wanted to try the car out so popped over to Nur for the weekend'.... For most it's a yearly pilgrimage hahah not a weekend on a whim!!

I went with hsd monopro on my e36 - found they were better than anything I tried upto about £1500.. I’ve driven a couple of cars with mental coil overs (moton etc) and they’ve blown me away but the price is ridiculous and unless you’re gonna change settings between tracks they’re not really going to be that beneficial.. Would be good to try some v3’s though as I think when I have a bit more cash that’s one area I’d definitely like to upgrade on my car

I cant recommend the kws enough. I have been so pleased with them So I haven't really had time to do much recently, due to working alot getting a car ready to go to the Nurburgring testing. I did how ever manage to fit my decat pipes which sound awesome, and have given me just enough noise to be happy with without being to much for day to day use. I also ordered a rear roll cage from gosling racing. I choose this company as the quality of workmanship is 100% it's fully tig welded and is some of the best quality I've seen. Few pictures of it being made! Should take delivery soon. [br Should look something like this when done! Just unsure on colour. Think I'll stick with black
