I think the link explains better than I can, but basically there's a new European ruling under consideration regarding compulsory insurance
This could, if passed as-is, have huge implications to motorsport across Europe and the EU. The requirement would be for compulsory insurance for ALL motorvehicles, regardless whether they're used on private property or the public highway
The compulsory insurance which will be required if this consultation is passed IS NOT AVAILABLE for motorsports of any type, and so effectively motorsport, trackdays, etc., would all become illegal due to lack of insurance cover
DO NOT sit back and ignore this - we've already seen a laise faire attitude towards consultations on classifying modified cars resulting in the sweeping changes to IVA / BIVA and q-plate assignment. As a result of this attitude the proposed changes are coming in later this year and a lot of people with modified classic cars are about to get a Q-Plate and loose a lot of value from their vehicles!
Don't go unheard and let this latest change happen without getting your opinion across..
Don't assume that Brexit will save you from this - it will not.. (we're leaving the EU and NOT Europe despite what the Daily Express think)
Don't moan after the fact if you didn't reply to this consultation
The website below explains this, plus what sections and how to complete the survey (linked within). It takes about 5mins to copy/paste and get your thoughts heard..
