We are planning on organising a trip next year which will be based around taking part in one of the RSRNurburg track days

it's actually worth the 10 hour drive haha..... I think the only thing which would improve the place is a few more friendly Germans

Car looks great, I had one briefly just as a sales car but was toying with the idea of using it on track, has it taken much work to make it capable?

I know lads who have used them standard on track and they're a good laugh. Obviously with any car this age, it's probably worth refreshing the suspension and bushes. But with a decent set of brakes and tyres, you'll be well away. You can pick one up for less than 500 quid nowadays. Mines a pretty simple build in term of mods Brakes, coilovers, tyres, intake, decat, oil cooler. It isn't that good in a straight line but it handles mint. Very difficult to unsettle. The fanciest part of the entire car is the rollcage lol |

I've got a massive urge for one of these lately. think the styling is really starting to look good and the horrible interior will be a little less horrible once it's been ripped out for a cage and some buckets! they look really good fun on track as well

Sounds a bit sad but I've a proper soft spot for this era of focus..... possibly down to having one as my first car. This is the 4th mk1.5 I've had now. I sorta regret not getting into the track related stuff sooner though |
