So after a bit of contemplating I decided I would make a dedicated build thread of my 2001 Subaru Impreza WRX UK300 as I do plan to use it as a track car as well something fun to drive at the weekends so it kind of makes sense. Purchased the vehicle from my best mate a few weeks ago and not done much to it since, I have yet to learn exactly what the car has had done to it but as far as I know the current spec as follows: Engine:
2.0 EJ205 STI Intercooler Nur Spec R Performance exhaust System with decat up-pipe Larger Turbo (unsure of model) Larger Injectors Uprated Fuel Pump Remapped Brakes:STI Brembo Front Calipers Black Diamond Drilled and Grooved Discs Performance Brake Pads (unsure of make)
Suspension:
KYB Ultra R Front Shocks Tein Front Springs Front and Rear Upgraded Anti Roll Bars
Exterior:
Prodrive rear spoiler Blob eye rear lights Blob eye rear bumper
Like I say this is all I know of so far, shall update the thread as I find out and change things.
So far all I have done is give it a good clean and taken it out on weekends to keep everything turning and lubricated. First are some photo's of it just after I spent half a day cleaning it:
So the first thing I need to do is sort the minor niggles out with it, has developed some rust around the rear arches, the rear suspension is knocking plus the flexi pipe is blowing so before I put any money into it to make it faster etc I need to get them sorted. Have ordered the rear top mounts and KYB Ultra R rear shocks (has KYB Ultra R's on the front but not the back for some reason) so shall update the thread when they all arrive.

You can never go wrong with a subie track car. Question. Would you strip it out and make it more track or leave the interior for more if a daily approach

Don't plan to get rid of it anytime soon though so who knows I may eventually turn it into a full fledged track monster

would be a good car to do or with. Easy to tune and easy to drive so I've heard.

I rather like the look of the bugeye model, I know there's a lot that don't like that shape but I think they look cool, yours looks to be a very nice clean example

Always wanted one of these but the mini got in the way. Looks a nice base to start with!

Lovely looking car! And they give the best sound ever on boost! I'd leave the interior, can still have good fun with it in

my standard rear shocks were knocking so bad when i bought the car used from subaru, thought it will be a cheap motor factor fix. hawkeye sti struts can only be sourced from subaru at nearly 600 quid... car looks good big fan of the uk 300

So a little update on the UK300, ordered the rear top mounts and rear KYB Ultra SR rear shocks last week and they finally arrived at the weekend, the rear top mounts were spot on:
Edit: turns out these are the rear shocks, having never delt with a 4WD car before I am learning new information about it every day and upon having a look under the car I discovered that indeed it does have these type of rear shocks fitted:
Also had another delivery of some goodies this week, but I shall just let the photo's do the talking:
And finally I ordered some new metal pressed number plates and finally got rid of the Scotland badge (nothing against the Scottish), picture was taken as I tucked her away for the night:
Still a lot more to come, will continue to update the thread as and when things change

nice! I do like the look of these. Might have to get myself some stickers too Question about being on track though - do you find yourself holding back any knowing that you've got to drive it home? Only ask because I managed to find 4 seconds at Donington this year trailing the car compared to when it was road legal driving it to and from tracks etc.

Just a minor update, finally received my Nur Spec R exhaust baffle from Sumo Power today. Can finally go on track days without hopefully having to worry about noise limits as the Spec R exhaust system is LOUD lol:
